Hi there!
Im a Canarian girl who has a boyfriend from New Zealand.He just moved here with me,to the capital(Santa Cruz de Tenerife)and he doesnt speak Spanish.We are 23 and 26.He loves sports.
He wants to meet English speaking people so he can make friends.
Itd be nice to know nice night places with English people too.

Hola Nayra y bienvenida a nuestro foro 
I have a friend who lives here from NZ but we are mothers so don't get to go out much. Although we are getting together with others from this forum on Saturday if you'd like to come - but it's in the south, I'm afraid. If you want I can ask her if she'd like to come, although she may not be able to.
I didn't speak any Spanish when I first arrived here but met a Spanish man who is now my husband and have learnt it quickly with his help and patience. I'm sure he'll pick it up quickly too with your help. |

Ay!I´m so sorry I reply so late...
I´ve been busy this weekend cos sunday was my birthday:D
Being without children doesnt´t mean that we don´t enjoy a nice cup of tea one afternoon... 
I have friends with children so we are used to.
Where is your friend from?From which part of New Zealand?Is amazing how people move from the other part of the world to the islands...
About teaching Spanish,I hope to do that one day,but now I cant give classes qith exams round the corner.A cup of tea would be nice,but teaching spanish requires too much time.Hopefully in summer..
So,if you want to have a tea/beer...just contact with me!

By the way...Matt (my boyfriend)wants to get a job here in the island.He has a big cv but the problem is that he doesn´t speak Spanish.
He is electrician and works in maintenance but he has worked in everything and has a biiiiig experience.
It would be nice to have him working close to home,but I know it would be difficult.
Any idea??

Hello Nayra. First of all, I congratulate you on your English.
I live in the north of the island, but my wife and I are old farts of sixty-four years. We are in Puerto.
Where did you meet Matt and where in New Zealand did he come from? Our first visit to the islands lasted for three weeks. We were so impressed that we went back after we retired, and spent three more glorious months there.

Hi there!
Thank you!I just try to do my best.
I met Matt last summer in Edinburgh,in a youth hostel.I was visiting Scotland for the second time,I was staying in that place and he was working in Edinburgh and he was also staying there.
He is from Lower Hutt,Wellington.

PS..I forgot to say.... our new bar manager Nik is also new here and wants to meet some new friends... he is 20 and on his gap year before uni.
He loves sports, music and socialising - maybe you guys would like to meet up some time and go out....? Let me know
