KarlB,
We're moving out permanently next month with our three year old daughter and would be interesred to get you views on choosing a spanish school over an English speaking alternative? _________________ "Police arrested two kids yesterday, one was drinking battery acid, the other was eating fireworks. That's right, I would be interested in anything you find out too... when you put your kids in school, don't forget to come back to us with all the info from your particular municipality, as although the general info is the same, they can vary slightly.
If you end up living in Guia de Isora, I have all the info for that area, as my 3 year old starts in September. I also have an 17 month old. Both girls. _________________ Buy & Sell your stuff online FREE - www.canarianexchange.com - eBay for the Canaries |

We chose a public spanish school for what I think are a few good reasons. My brothers daughter goes to one and she loves it. She has now been there for 5 years. Your daughter is the same age as my son and I think a good age to start school. Has she been going to a pre-school or playgroup in England? I think that really helped our son adapt to school over here.
First of all you probably think its free and that was one plus over english schools. We have moved here to live and change our way of life and I wanted Tom (my son) to adapt to this move quickly. As he is only 3 for future we may take private english lessons to keep him up with that but for the moment he loves mixing with the Spanish, and there are English children as well, at his school. I have certainly not got anything bad to say about English schools in Tenerife but I remember vividly the first time a few years ago I went to pick up my brothers wee girl from her Spanish school. The children held hands, they played together, they had genuine happy smiley faces. Its an image I have not forgot and from that point I was pretty certain when we moved over Tom would attend Spanish school.
Everyone has there own views and opinions and they are all different. This is mine and I hope it helps in some way.
Best of luck with your move and the forum is always here to help. _________________ Need a cleaner in South Tenerife ? Cleaning just got better... www.maid4tenerife.com

Hi again Jonnymack you prob know this anyway but make sure you have all your daughters medical records, injections etc. You will need this for any school without it you'll be a bit stuck.

Thanks for all the info guys!
We are over this Friday for a few days, house hunting and hopefully completing the sale on our business venture. Hope to get a chance to look at a couple of schools around Los Christianos. _________________ "Police arrested two kids yesterday, one was drinking battery acid, the other was eating fireworks. Hello
Can i just add that the majority of spanish schools close on the 21st of june. They may be open on the thursday, friday and monday. After that you will not be able to get into the schools as the will be closed.
Some schools run a summer school but they won't let you round the school as they are not the teachers.
We had this problem last year. Try and get in before they close or you will have to wait til september...... _________________ Find out more at www.myspacetenerife.com
