Anytime you want, as long as you hire a car and don't expect me to go out every night!
I'm actually quite a good host... I just don't like the p*** being taken out of me.

Blimey Charlie.
Well my point for what its worth and I have only skipped over what has been said above so apologies if I have repeated anything.
We have only been here 3 months and have been lucky enough to have a few friends stay already. We explained when before and when they arrived we were on a budget and they excepted this. One evening they took us out, one evening we cooked, one evening they cooked and the rest they did there own thing. They are my wifes friends so one night she had a night on the town with them. They were here for 11 days and one of them is looking at coming over again early August which we are looking forward to.
At the other end of the spectrum my 2 brothers are coming over in Sept, to be truthful I am scared lol. There will be no children coming over just them, we have a 3 year old called Thomas. Emmm how shall I put this they like a drink and they like to party, do the brother things!!! Now I love my brothers to pieces but I will be laying down the law when they arrive. Sure I will go out on one or maybe even two nights with them but I WILL NOT be getting wasted as they will want to do rolling in at 4 in the morning. If it comes to it I will be leaving them in a bar. They are family but my priority is my own family now. There is no way on earth Tom's routine will be altered in any way, they will orgainse around him PUNTO.
If its comes to a head which I am fully expecting they will be checking in at the hotel, brothers or not. They are gonna have there 100's and 100's of euros to spend and I hope they enjoy themselves, and I also hope they respect the fact I may want them to spend time with my family and do what they may envisage to be quite boring things. Chatting, walking, quality family time.
Being a parent is about responsibilty above anything else. Thats my view
And I love being a parent.
Everyone is entilted to thier opinion and this is mine.

I am sure they will be fine Karl. If they love you and have respect for you and your family then they will behave and not expect you to do everthing.
I have my friend and 2 sons here at the moment and they know the score. We had saved a few pennies so we could do some stuff with the kids anyways so we are out a bit, but i work and cannot give up all my time ....heehee. I think I have 5 days free in 9 weeks of summer holidays....without guests.

Quite right. Your brothers are party animals, so you can kind of forgive them for being flippant, however I would expect your or claire's mum to be a little more understanding to your family needs, don't you think?
