Post Post subject: Advice please! Reply with quote

Hi! Hope everyone's well!
Myself and hubby are now seriously focusing on moving to tenerife. We are not currently home owners so would be looking to rent property.
We have four children, 2 girls 10, 5 and two boys 8,5 ( you've probably guessed the 5yr olds are twins). Does anyone have any thoughts on the best areas suitable for us.
would much appreciate any advice given.
Thanks Very Happy

What type of area do you want?????

There are so many different types of places to live. I would suggest that you come over on holiday and have a look around and try and get a feel for the type of place that you want to live in.

I live away from Las Americas and los cristianos and i love it .....my children go to a local spanish school.

There are a lot of areas that would suit families. what type of accom do you want...i know you said 3 beds.....pool??? apartment???? villa??? town house?? spanish area?? english area??

Lots of questions i know but it will help us give you an idea..rather than throwing areas at you that would not be suitable..

I am not really fussy about type or pool etc as long as there is a kitchen, bathroom, and lounge. When visiting Tenerife I have always loved Los Cristianos. I would like to be in an area that is close or around both spanish and english. Near to schools and employment oppurtunites. I am a holistic therapist, and currently sales leader for avon with telesales experience and have also run family business with husband. so areas with these opportunites would be great. My husband is currently a delivery driver, with flt licences. He has experience in retail, bar workand has worked as a doormen at clubs. So i think being close to tourist areas would be best.
Thanks again your advice is very much appreciated.

Los cristianos will be more expensive than some of the other areas....

if you go inland a bit...Cabo Blanco, Valle san lorenzo, La Camella....these places are slightly cheaper and about 5-10 mins drive from main town. You could even go further...San isidro, Golf del Sur, san Miguel.....These are about 15 mins......Also the places further away are more family orientated.....They have schools...and some are very good.

My children go to school in los abrigos....very good school and the eductaion is good. They have picked up spanish very quickly aswell.

On the job side.....they do do Avon here in tenerife, although I find some of it more expensive than UK..My sister does Avon in UK so I buy from her lol

There are always bar jobs, chef jobf and things to do with the tourist trade...if you are not to fussed to start with t hen you should be fine until you find your feet.

Best advise though would be ...bring as much money over with you ...rent allowance for 6 months plus living.....that would be a start...

Thanks!
I might look into carrying on avon but not sure I want to continue doing that.
I am a fast learner so would be willing to work in other areas if experience is not needed.
R U a stripper or do you just run the hen nights?

You look lovely and slim on pics, but it's that cleavage that makes me jealous!
Don't know what happenned to my share! LOL

Jenny you look fab in your belly dancing outfit.
Tell me how you got that muscle tone. Since havin the twins my belly just looks permenately relaxed. It's not fat or anything just needs toning.
