I'm from Romania and next week I'm going to Tenerife for 5 months to study there. I would really apreciate some help...especially that my Spanish is not very good... in other words..it's bad . Thanks a lot!

Yes..I'll be studying in La Laguna and I'll also be living there..in a rented apartament. So far people from there have been really nice to me.

I have some troubles, though, such as not knowing too much about living in Tenerife. For instance, should I buy a camera form Romania, or should I wait and buy it from there?..Can you help me?

I don't know the price of cameras in Romania but a digital still camera will cost upwards of 100 Euros here. If you knew what make and model you wanted we could try to find the price here.

As I saw on other forum posts, living in the north seems pretty different then living in the south...Should I bring my autumn clothes? Or is it hot and sunny there also, as it says on most of the sites about Tenerife?

You must bring your autumn clothes, La Laguna is quite high and can be quite cool in the winter. I have been there when the temperature during the day was 10 deg C. It isn't like that all the time though. You can bring your bikini as the beach at Las terrasitas is not too far away.

Hi Maria! La Laguna is where I stayed for a week when I first came to the island in 2002 and I loved it there and I came back again in spring 2004 and stayed in the same place. By December I had moved here!

It does rain at times and get quite chilly at night but so normal clothes for Europe in autumn would be about right! Although by midday it can get quite hot if the sun is out.

It is a great place for learning Spanish too because so few people speak any English and it encourages you to learn I find.

There's a good bus service from there, good selection of shops and the countryside just outside is incredible!
