Post subject: Lavendar |

Does anyone know if there are varieties of lavendar that do not flower?
We have large stone troughs on our terrace which I have planted with Lavendar amongst other plants. I have two which have much paler more greyish leaves than the others and they have never flowered. The leaves have a strong Lavendar smell.
Also one of these has two main stems of which one has wilted and died. I don't think it is incorrect watering as the other stem is doing well. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance. |

All species of lavender flower if conditions are right and they are big enough.
It's impossible to say why the one part of one of yours has died without seeing it. There are many insect pests on this island and you can find ones that attack just about very plant here or it might be a fungal disease. I would remove it in case it spreads to the rest of the plant. _________________ Find out more about me here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=10 |

| Thanks Bard. I have removed and disposed of the offending half of the plant. The other half of it seems to be doing well. |
