Post subject: I Need A Truck |
|
|
Hi everyone,
Need a little help (don't need an answer right away).
I just shiped my household goods today in a 20 ft container (not compleatly full)
when it arrives in Tenerife, I am going to need a truck.
My options:
1:Rent a 7,5 ton truck (Lorry)
2: Someone has one on this forum and would like to make some money
3: Someone knows someone with a truck (will pay)
I thought of renting a van, but I would have to make 2-3 trips from the port to south Ten.
hmmmmmm??????
Any sugestions????
Hugs and thanks in advance for any help or forwarding info. _________________ My Life is a big walk about |

| Sometimes the company you use offers you the option to have it delivered to your home from Santa Cruz. Check it out with them if you have not already Lee. |

Hi Lee,
Years ago you were obliged to use a 'transportista' registered to collect from the docks. I don't know if that's still the case. Best check with your shipping agent. _________________ .

We collected our own stuff as I was able to get it all in the back of my Berlingo. We did not bring any of the big furniture. I don't know if the rules are different for larger amounts. |

Hi Lee, when our container eventually arrived (went via Crete, long story) Wordlwide Shipping dealt with all the paperwork with the docks (at this end) and also delivered it all, very stressfree. We were really impressed with them. |

| We had a container shipped over from mainland Spain (guess customs may be more complicated from UK) but we had to pay a company to get it off the dock for us as you are not allowed to open them on the dock here (in Galicia where we loaded it we were!) then we had to pay the company next door to use their ramp to get the car down off it! We fitted it all in our car and a large hire van as our car was what took up most of the room in the container. |
