New beach yeah!! According to form the new beach near the Arona Grand Hotel in Los Cristianos Rincon is now underway I have only been waiting 15 years for this event so it should only take a copuple more years and it could be finnished or sooner mañana maybe, but it is under progress although I do hope they do something with the sewage pumping station just outside the Costamar apts because it does smell preeetty bad at times _________________ Caty |

They've been talking about fixing that beach (Los Tarajales) for years but I also heard that they're finally doing something about it.
Could it be because of pressure from Madrid and the E.U. after they discovered last year that the grant they gave Tenerife for the project 7 years ago was 'reallocated' to other projects instead....?
I don't think they're doing the beach as far up as the Arona Grand though. I heard it was only coming half way round the bay, just up to where the all those new Locals have gone up at Rincon de Los Cristianos.
Does anyone have more info on the project? _________________ My Paranoia-Management Therapy is going great! Now they're only watching me half the time.... |

I have been down to the beaches today and the town hall have placed nice Arona town hall signs on both beaches with the names of the beaches El Callao and Los Tarajales plus the beach regulations, however there is absolutly no sand on the supposedly new beaches they have been just slightly tidied up but no where near what the Spanish media mentioned regarding the plan to continue the Los Cristianos beach around to the Arona Gran Hotel beach, I would say that the EU money that was mentioned in the media has definitly not been spent on what seems to be the finished new beach project _________________ Caty |

You haven't allowed for the budget for research, all those politicians travelling to exotic places to 'research' how the beach should be built! _________________ .

I'm sure they have spent the euros somewhere because if they call what they have done a beach it's a joke. I really think that they have only touched the beach in front of the Arona Gran Hotel in order to place the sign not much good at all. _________________ Caty |

I thought I'd pull this old thread up to date.
Still no changes on the beach in front of The Arona Gran Hotel and the locals to which Funky referred are still looking like there's a problem, since they've been looking completed, at least all this year but are still enclosed with mesh fencing.....maybe a problem with the building / letting licence perhaps? _________________
