my name is laura and i am working as a nurse in a manchester A&E department. although I love my job here. i love tenerife the people the culture and the sun.
Does anyone know how i can find a job in south tenerife as a nurse. I can speak basic spanish. all help and advice welcome

You could try the british care homes and maybe some of the private clinics but most of the larger clnics and state hospitals require your qualifications to be "homologado" officialy recognised in Spain by the official nursing school. Or you could think of setting up your own home nursing business but still to do this legally you need to have your qualfications recognised in Spain and join the School of nursing that will issue you with a legal offical college number.

I think you should concentrate on learning good Spanish too that is always an advantage

The advice to you was try the British ones, basic Spanish is not enough for nursing. If you cannot fully understand the doctors or matrons instructions things could go seriously wrong so they won't employ someone with only 'basic Spanish'

Here are some more private care homes in the south
Vintersol mainly deals with Scandinavian clients and is a fully equipped Rehabilitation Center , located in Los Cristianos, Situated just a few meter from “ Playa Las Vistas” beach, it occupies an area of some 12.000sq.mtrs. or there is Mar y Sol a similar set up also in Los Cristianos here are the web pages if you want to take a look, I don't know if you would be interested in working in places like these but it's worth a look.
