Post subject: Female Singers ?? |
|
|
A friend of mine is seriously considering moving to tenerife to try and make it as a singer. She has over 15 years under her belt but still in her early 30's. Just wondered if there are many Female singers in Tenerife.
i must say on my 10 years of holidays I have only come across one female soloist called Chantelle...she was great! Oh and a Karen Carpenter tribute. Used to Love the Tina Turner but don't think she is around now.
Wondered if there is much call for females or what the competition for gigs would be like.
Would be useful to know of some female acts we can come and see to check out the competition!!
She's not some young wannabe or anything the trout has plenty of experience and understands what she has to do to make it here but wonders if this is really the place for another female personality vocalist. |

There are female singers here...quite a few actually. It is very clicky here though. You would have to do loats of ground work and many free gigs possibly until you got a name for yourself.
Bars tend to go for the ones they know...but once you have broken the market then it could be very good.
Hard work and stamina in that game i am affraid.. _________________ Find out more at www.myspacetenerife.com

| Well I am friends with two of Tenerife's fabulous female singers. Shelley and Maxine Jack. Shelley won best female artist at the entertainment awards back in April. Maxine was a finalist. |

I interviewed Maxine Jack when she first came to Tenerife. Superb entertainer. Say hello to her for me. _________________ I started with nothing and still have plenty left |

I think one of the best female singers on TF is Elaine Alexander, who is also a close personal friend of my family. Also, Savannah and Louise are ok too, they were a duo named Liaison who sang at the Soul Suite. (incidentally, my claim to fame is that I named Liaison when I lived out there!).
I have had contact with a lot of singers in Las Americas, on a persoal and professional level having run the Soul Suite and Soul Suite 2 bars. But by far my fave are BWB, who are two really talented blokes!
