According to the Direccion General de Centros e Infraestructura Educativa 7/06/06 the school holiday dates are the folowing for Spanish state schools:

Xmas holidays 23rd of Dec 2006 to the 7th Jan 2007
Easter holidays 2nd of Apr to the 8th of Apr 2007
Carnival holidays 19th of Feb to the 23rd Feb 2007
National holiday Spain 12th Oct 2007
All saints day 1st Nov 2007
Day of the constitution 6th of Dec 2007
Day of the teacher and student 7th Dec 2007
Day of the immaculate conception 8th Dec 2007
Day of Candelaria saint 2nd of Feb 2007
Day of Canaries 30th of May 2007
Each school centre can modify the dates but basically they should be around the ones above

Plus the summer holidays starting around the 22nd of June

Dont the state schools have a summer holiday like the six weks in the uk.
end of July to september.

I think these 3 months are a lot longer than the same 3 months in the UK.

Three months that sreems a long time.

i was just looking at those dates above and looking for the long gap.

This year they break up on about the 22nd June.....depending on the school....they then go back about the 6th september.....it is about 11 weeks......grrrrrrrr...lol

And yes it seems to be longer here....but they are able to go swimming and do lovely stuff that they cant do in UK...

Yes your right they have got the weather to do stuff, they dont have to be cooped up inside.so i suppose its not as bad when you look at it like that.
The reason it seems long enough 7 weeks in the uk is because after you have your summer holiday abroad, if you get one the kids start getting bored.

It is and has been absolutely fantastic...........Clear blue skies and about 24/5......it is cold at night though....
