Hi Bard

We would be happy to grow some milkweed too, if you can send the seeds to us. As Daverock said we only have a balcony so as long as its OK in pots we are more than happy to help.

Cheers
Sunny Very Happy

I am glad the seeds arrived OK! Good luck with them. My article is in the current Tenerife Sun if you can find a copy. The online version hasn't updated yet!

My seeds have started to sprout/shoot (come out above the soil!). Do they need a lot of water Bard?

I will make this day a happy one for I alone can determine what kind of day it will be.

Excellent - yes, they need to be kept moist but don't flood them!

I gave some to Jan who works down Flicks and Mike (don't know his surname) a regular there who lives on your complex and who is a lepidopterist. Zina is interested in growing some in the patio there too. Between you all you could one day have Amarilla Bay getting known for all its butterflies!

I got Xoaquin and his friends invloved. I gave them each a pot with some soil in (I didn't want them to get THAT invloved!!!), they dug out a few little holes then put the seeds in and covered them over. He was soo excited when they started coming up. His friends have yet to see them.

When planting the seeds one of his friends saw something sticking out of the soil and thought they had already started growing (2 minutes after being planted!!). It was just a piece of onion skin that must have been in the bag with the soil!!

Laughing

Excellent to get the children involved because they are the future generation and need to know about nature! People have lost touch so much with the natural world and I have heard that in politically correct New-World-Ordered Britain that even conker fighting has now been banned!
