Sometimes I despair with Tenerife and live music, I was speaking to Diddy from GTA and they've been given the elbow by Edwards bar because the bar can fill the place with one DJ as easily as a band and a DJ which costs them loads more.

I can see the reasons but it's annoying to think that bars are happier being like every other bar around rather than offering people an alternative to Yates, Linekars, Met Bar etc which are all basically the same kind of bar.

Especially with summer around the corner. It looks like bars just use bands while its quiet to bring in different clientel and then as soon as they know they won't have a problem getting people in they ditch talent and replace it with a gobby idiot and a microphone.

It's terrible.

It's called business. I believe that people run bars in Tenerife (or anywhere else for that matter) to make a living. If the punters want cheap drinks and a 'gobby idiot' to entertain them rather than live music so be it. How about opening a bar yourself which only has top quality live bands? I'll be your first customer.

BTW the other week I was talking to Roger Diss who runs the Western Sun about your band and our plans and it was really weird cos he had just been in the studio where you're getting your CD done! So it was a good plug for you that I was talking about you. Roger, is taking me on as a regular writer for his paper too!

yeah i just read the article - don't know where they got "heavy metal" from though!

We're going through a shitty patch with the band at the moment, our drummer has had to drop out due to work commitments and things ain't sounding to clever with the new line up.

I heard a rumour that the Lizards Kings have been booted from Moonlight bar, don't know how true that is - maybe Wim can clear it up?

Update: Apparantly the Lizards will be playing at O'Reillys 5 nights a week.

The Beatles thing is going really well, I'd had it in my head for ages and to finally get it off the ground has been a lot of fun, we've just done our first gigs. First one at O'Callaghans which was a freebie, but it got us one for chicagos and a fortnightly gig at O'callys, so it's working out really well.

Are you doing any other solo stuff or just playing the once a week with the band?
