That's a good summing up by karlb, you really need to decide WHY you want to come to Tenerife. There are thousands who want to come and party and hope to get enough money with as little work and responsibility as possible in order to do that.
Very few admit to this
There are a minute number who realise that to live in this fabulous climate one has to work hard for low wages in order to 'make it'.
Most people claim to belong to this minute minority.
Good luck to both categories. Whichever one you fall into. _________________ .

Thanks Karlb. I have no intention of buying a bar and running one. I know what that entails and finances are not permitting anyway.
Good comments too from Rob, thanks. I hope I fall into the category that understand hard work. I have worked long hours all my working life and do not see how a change in location should make working any easier or give one a free life.
I also intend on doing more research, possibly and preferably spending some time there checking out possibilities before making a decision. I moved from the UK to Moscow 12 years ago without a word of the language and no idea what was waiting for me, I dug in and survived.
Thanks again. |

DJ Biscuit, as you can appreciate on the forum we do recieve a lot of enquiries from people who want to come to Tenerife. We know little or nothing about them and it is difficult to give the right advise politely sometimes.
From your history you certainly sound like you have what it takes to make a real go of it. Most do not realise what moving abroad involves. You have fluency in Russian, which could be useful in the right place in Tenerife, and you know what it takes to start a fresh.
Survivers survive. You are one obviously and I am sure everyone on the forum will be more than happy to help when you need it.
Keep in touch and SHOUT if you need anything.

Welcome to the forum Mr.Biscuit. Wait...Sorry wrong website !
I've known Chris a long time and he's a damn good friend. He ran a pub in Moscow called the Albion and quickly turned it into one of the most popular pubs in Moscow for expats (not an easy feat). I personally had many unforgettable (and some I'd rather forget ) nights in there.
He has DJ'd and hosted many expat parties in numerous venues around Moscow and all were a raving success. Respect for the christmas party held at the Hard Rock Cafe where he and others helped raise a lot of money for charity.
He has charisma, charm, intelligence and he shall be Moscow's loss and Tenerife's gain should he choose to leave his comrades behind.
Maybe you'll all get to meet him one day soon and see for yourselves.
Good luck mate, I'm off to edit something on the other forum.
p.s. Bro, if you hear of a 1 bedroom flat with a sunken bath, jacuzzi and 37'' plasma going for less than 300 Euro's give me a bell and I'll let Chris know ! _________________ I'll make bail so fast my soup will still be warm ! - Sopranos. |

Just curious Comrade. Why The Albion? He doesn't originate from either the West Bromwich or Brighton area per chance? _________________ Don't follow the 'MySpaceTenerife' link under my avatar because you will learn nothing about me.
