This Sunday just gone I was at El Risco in Los Llanos and have performed my first set there which went down really well and I had the host Nico, who is a brilliant singer and guitarist, on vocals too and second guitar. I played Knockin' on Heaven's Door, Horse With No Name, Redemption Song and Stand by Me. Unfortunately I had to dash off to get a lift from my friend who had taken me there but I intend alternating between Flicks and El Risco in future. It is a simply unique bar with great food, homemade bread, proper live music played by musicians with guitars, bass, drums, harmonicas etc and amazingly all powered by a generator. El Risco is basically a cabin on a mountainside in the woods and not like anywhere else I know of! They even grow their own vegetables with artichokes outside.

There's a road to it from Erjos and another via La Montañeta and La Vega down into Icod. The countryside is incredible around it.

Thanks Bard, a bit out of our way but if ever we are in the area on a Sunday will look it up. Would be a bonus if you were playing.

Maybe you should do a sticky and edit it every month to let people know where you are of a Sunday?

I know there is certainly one person thats wants 'TO ROCK' in Silencio.

Silencio is a very hard place for anyone to find any real rock music! Los Llanos is the exact opposite - singer/guitarists like Bob Marley, Neil Young, Jimi Hendrix and Dylan and bands like The Stones are very popular there. I was getting asked if I knew any Neil Young. In Silencio it would be more likely to be who is Neil Young? lol

I intend probably phasing over to making Los Llanos my main place to play once I sort out how to get back. The last bus goes around 7 so I could do it that way and miss the later part. I was just pleased to have been introduced there and met everyone and played a bit so they can see what I can do. Next time it will be even better.
