I hate asking these sorts of questions, but due to the fact that someone incredibly important to me is moving out here in September (all things going to plan) I am going to have to.

This person will make the most brilliant compere and do very very well out of it, but getting the initial foot on the ladder is going to be the hardest part.

I have a vague idea from people who I know who currently do this kind of work, but does anyone have an idea of the sort of money comperes get, i dont want to know what YOU are getting paid (ahem, not after the last time that was done on here, ha ha), but I basically need to find out the following.....

-rough idea of kind of money
-anyone know of any jobs coming up in the next couple of months or something

I have searched as well but couldnt find anything.

Like I say, I wouldnt normally ask this kind of thing unless it was very important.

I've asked a friend of mine who's husband is a compere/singer. She says that the wages vary so much depending on talent, agent, venue and even area. Best way to find a job is to find a booking agency, either in the papers or asking at the radio stations.

I used to own a bar until last year, it was a small place with a karaoke compere and we paid him 60€ a night, he was happy enough with it, i know someone that was paid 90€ a night but that was a bigger place that was well known for entertainment. Hope this helps?
