I wondered why my cash card only lasted a year before it expired.
Until I got my statement
18 euros each.

That's awful, i thought banca march were meant to be quite good. I guess you get a choice over having a card or not though, but the queues in there can be horrible. _________________ My Facebook |

CajaCanarias charge nothing for some cards. No one believes me when I say that they're the cheapest. _________________ .

I think that all the banks are much of a muchness. Sure, one won't charge for cards, or will offer extra interest on your account, but will then stiff you on other commissions or account charges. They're all there to make money at the end of the day. People complain about the UK bank charges, but the UK banks are positively cheap compared to Tenerife _________________ My Paranoia-Management Therapy is going great! I always find that if you go in and complain (and know the staff) then they return the money.

If you're not a face, you're not a face, whether you say it properly or not
It should be: Me han quitado dinero de la cuenta y ahora voy a quitar lo que queda y llevarlo a otro banco! (You've taken money out of my account and now I'm going to take the rest out and take it to another bank!)
Like Stripps says though Karl, just give up your card and go out and earn some more dosh for Clare to spend _________________ Who am I? Find out more here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=17

I believe you Rob. Caja Canarias was the first account I opened here almost 2 years ago and they have never charged me a cent. Unlike the Santander who are modern day highwaymen. We were charged 18 euros each for two cards which we never ever received. I got it refunded after an almighty barny in the bank. Then they charged me 27 euros to close an account I had never used.
Stick with Caja Canarias. |

From what you say, Caja Canarias sounds like the place to go. The other advantage is that they are on the Telebanco network, which seems to have far more banks and cashpoints than Servired or the other third network. Im with Barclays (Servired) and in an emergency, I've had to use a Telebanco cashpoint, and got stiffed about 7 Euros just to get at my hard earned cash !!
Are they the same for non-residents as well as residents, or do us foreign johnnies get stiffed more? _________________ My Paranoia-Management Therapy is going great! Now they're only watching me half the time.... |

When i opened my account with my english address every statement my balance got lower and lower. When i change to my spanish address does it still go lower and lower.
Do all banks charge you for bankers cards.
But saying that i do agree there is a big thing at the moment in the uk of the outragous account charges, people are now claiming them back, which by law they can do, how can people get out of there overdrafts if they are taking large amounts of money in charges, it can be a vicious circle for them. |
