 Post subject: golden sands??? |

hello all!! i know the beaces are known for the black sand but i heard there is a beach with golden white sand somewhere on th island???? where is this????

All of the beaches in the south are golden, las galletas being the only one i can think of that's the original black sand

...playa del duque beach in costa adeje..oh yes , my fave beach...and its clean and has nice loos/showers, comfy sunbeds and mattressess, and lots of "massagey men"....there are also some wonderful, restaurants and and heladeria...

Not entirely true...
Cristianos is yellow sand...on the bay side near mc donalds...other side near port is black...
theres some nice beaches up north lol.
A lot of the beaches are black sand but still nice.....Fañabe is nice, black but nice...
Las americas is yellow if you can see through all the sick, glass and anything else that people have left about.
el medano is lovely..black
lol erm cant think at the mment lol

The beach that you're thinking of is Las Terasitas, about 8km north of Santa Cruz. It was made with sand brought over from the Sahara desert

Both sides of the port are yellow sand??
Fanabes yellow aswell??
By Black i'm thinking puerto de la cruz where the surfer dudes are, the southern beaches i'd call yellow

lol....they are black.......you can definitely see the difference between them when the kids get covered from head to toe.......soon go very very black...
A nice beach is Abades...went there over the weekend...we were the only english on the beach...NICE.

Black sand (or dark grey  ) sticks to you more too.
We were in Abades last weekend looking at property. It is a great place and has lovely beaches.

lol yes rob i think the one with imported sahra sand was the one i have heard about, might take a trip up there when im over

...all this talk of beaches!!...i want to be on one!!...although i must admit i hate the black sand, it does stick and it feels grubby and yuk,bring on the nice, yellowy stuff....  |

White sand does it for me every time. Nyali beach, Kenya, before the tourists arrived.

The whitest sand I have ever been on was Lake Mackenzie, Fraser Island in Oz.
Goodness it was like paradise
