Post subject: The right TAXI fare... Whant to be sure? |
|
|
Taxi prices can vary many times during the year because of fuel price risings, new taxes, etc.
The only way to measure prices is using the taximeter, the prices in the taximeters are stablished by the goverment and taximeters can only be programmed at MOT testing centres (in Spain ITV centres).
Sorry about my english, I have to improve it. |

Hi aroner
I agree that taximeters are stabilised/calibrated by the Goverment but many taxidrivers add in extra supplements to charge extra. For example the airport supplement is a very popular extra for the unsuspecting tourist 1.65Euro can be added when you are going to the airport or Los Cristianos port but some drivers will add it to bump up the fair.Other extras include changing the tarrif in mid journey, extra supplements for non existent luggage the list goes on forever and I have had them all.I sometimes wonder why they have meters at all because they are just a big joke.
By the way your English is very good. |
