Please don't SHOUT at us
Hello again. Long time no speak! Have you not moved out here yet?
Some people are miserable all the time and others are just having a bad day maybe. They certainly don't teach customer services to a lot of staff over here _________________ Who am I? Find out more here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=17
I will make this day a happy one for I alone can determine what kind of day it will be. |

To be honest it is the same the world over, if no one supervises staff at times they become complacent, except of course our Ezzy. You are either a happy cheerful helpful person or a lazy miserable old g-t, and think the world owes you one. As for me I love life and love meeting people, all down to personalities at times I think. |

Although I hate to see locals and Brits being offhand with tourists I also am amazed at the bad manners and loutish behaviour from all manner of tourists towards 'service' staff. _________________ .

Bad mannered people and louts deserve all they get, Rob, no matter what side of the counter they're on.
Touch wood, I've only experienced a very small amount of rudeness from the occasional Canarian/ Tenerifian .... but when I stayed on the Costa Del Sol for a few months a while back I actually experienced racial prejudice.
At the time I thought it was just rudeness, but ex pats there told me it was quite normal - and some of the locals absolutely hate all Brits. |

As you say Melders there is no need for rudeness irrespective of which side of the counter you're on. We usually find that smiling, talking quietly and keeping eye contact helps in most situations where service staff are being rude.

Sorry guys was away for couple days.
Being Irish maybe we expect everyone to be friendly but I have never found British people rude. I would have to say I found the Greeks to be really warm and welcoming. This is a great way of letting off steam when you feel a little hard done by on hols. |
