 Post subject: Who said cars was cheap out here? |

Before we moved over there was alot of comments on the prices of cars out here, a comment made was why drive one over when they are cheap enough to buy out here ?
I cant see that , second hand cars are really expensive for what you get compared to the uk.
It looks like maybe it is more worthwhile to buy a brand new one.

Absolutely correct, much cheaper to buy new. The costs of importing and matriculating can be very high.

Rob's right, second hand cars are expensive. There's more of a demand for them, as most people can't afford a new car here. The only second hand car worth bringing into Tenerife and rematriculating is a left hand drive large engined BMW, Merc or Audi (especially a convertible) about 3-6 years old that has already taken its big depreciation knock in the UK but obviously has plenty of life left in it. Even after ferries and matriculation costs, you'll probably still be a good €1000 up.

How much would you say for a brand new ford focus over here, amy ideas, thats what i had in the uk, like them.  |

Just called Ford in Las Chafiras. Prices for the Ford Focus start at about 14.000€ for a basic 1.6l 3-door.
