I'm surprised there isn't something like this already a sticky on this forum, so here's my attempt at starting one

Anything that's added to this post (which i hope you'll all contribute to!) i'll edit into this post, to make it all nice and concise

For whatever reason, my HTML has caused the forum to have a bit of a gap below this piece of text and the "emergency spanish!" But i think it'd better to keep it clear which part is which, than to get rid of the gap
Any ideas to get rid of the gap would be appreciated, adding to the thread would be even more so

Nice idea Nick, but Rob's right, the phonetics are a bit off there. I hope you don't pronounce your Spanish like that.....??

I'll update it when i have time, feel free to suggest new pronunciations then, it's hard to type how you speak

Need words aswell, really. I've not found a decent essential spanish guide yet, let's make this one good

Fantastic idea, but rather than having a phonetic pronunciation why not have a link to hear how to say the word.

If you recorded the correct pronunciation and stored on your server as a wav file, all you would need is a button next to the word linking to the wav file. When the user clicks on this their default media player would let them hear it. I know it is a bit more work, but I think the end product would be worth it.
