Post subject: Hiring a bike in Puerto de la Cruz |
|

Hi,
do you know whether it's possible to hire a bike for a few days in Puerto de la Cruz? If so, do you know where & the price range?
Many thanks for your help,
Vera |

Ask at the reception of your apartment/hotel as they should know of a local company who can rent you a bike and will be able to tell you the cost. _________________ Who am I? Find out more here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=17
I will make this day a happy one for I alone can determine what kind of day it will be. |

I know this is late, but if you want to hire bike in Puerto de la Cruz, I'm the man to speak to! I have a range of road bikes in all sizes, and currently I'm the only one silly enough to eek a living out of it.
I post this because most of the hotel staff are under the impression that there are no places to rent bikes. At least that's what most of my impromptu clients tell me about the reception staff before they wander off to find me on the internet... |

could you not then make up flyers and leave t hem in the hotels.....and maybe offer a percent of any income from sales....just a thought.
This may encourage the staff to be more forth coming with information regarding your services.... _________________ Find out more at www.myspacetenerife.com

Thanks for the suggestion but I tried that already.
I spent a full week delivering I don't know how many thousands of pamphlets on foot to 60 hotels. Within a few days I went back to a few hotels and they had mysteriously disappeared!
Most hotels want a cut of the profits. And I sware that Loro Parque employs people to go around expunging any pamphlets they see fit. They've always got to have the entire top row full to the brim with their publicity. *sigh*
Some hotels are nicer than others, and the regulars are getting to know me fairly well. Regardless, 95% of my clients know about me before their arrival. That's why I've focused primarily on the web, because most cyclo-toursists want to come fully prepared. |

Hey Synchronicity,
Love your username. We live by synchronicity and spontaneity. With them, life is magical.
I have a feeling we will be seeing you. Our antennae are quivering in the direction of Puerto de la Cruz with Kati's C.V. to an employer there and we will probably want bicycles for transportation esp. when we first arrive in late Sept or October.
What is your local contact info and I will enter it in my offline address book. |

Not wanting to interfere with your business interest Synchron, but I notice that you are in La Orotava, and that is quite a cycle ride away from Puerto. Also there is a shop in Puerto de la Cruz that does hire out cycles.
It is very close to the bus station. I believe the owners are German, and their business is in the base of an apartment block close to The Zeppelin bar. _________________ Don't follow the 'MySpaceTenerife' link under my avatar because you will learn nothing about me.

I need to apologise to synchronicity on two points. Going in to his web site I see that if you hire a bike from him he will deliver it to you in Puerto de la Cruz, so it doesn't matter that his business is some distance away. The second point is, I walked past the bike hiring business I advocated in my last post. Guess what? It's gone.
If you want to hire a bike in the north of the island click on to the link at the bottom of his posts 'Life from an outsider’s perspective' . Even if you don't want to hire a bike click on to that link. The site is very interesting and has lots of information and personal views of Tenerife. It is very enjoyable. _________________ Don't follow the 'MySpaceTenerife' link under my avatar because you will learn nothing about me.

Got the message, Seagull. I will click the link and take a look.

Sorry to appear stupid, but I can assure that I am.
The bike hire in Puerto is still in business. You have two to choose from now. I'm not recommending either, but one has no contact with this forum. _________________ Don't follow the 'MySpaceTenerife' link under my avatar because you will learn nothing about me.
