Hi, This is my first time on this site, so not sure what to do on here but anyway here goes. I have livied on the West coast for 15 years with my partner. Unfortunately he died at the begining of the year, so i am now alone. Always going out together, i now find myself in an awful predicament, where it is very difficult for me to go to bars on my own , even though i own one! I am hoping there are some guys out there who read this, maybe looking for new new friends and will get in touch with me. I am in my 50s, but my friends say i look about 40! they are very kind ha!! I f anyone interested in meeting me, then please get in touch and we can take it from there. Thanks for reading my message.x

Welcome to our Forum....sorry to hear about your partner...very sad.

As I am new to Tenerife I don't know much about the bars and clubs or any other social events for gay people but am interested to find out from a purely "professional" point of view - we have a new bar in Torviscas Alto and would be very welcoming to anyone who is interested in a chill out venue to meet and socialise with like minded people who enjoy good healthy food and a friendly atmosphere - so if there are any ladies or gents out there who would like to come along and enjoy our bar please let me know - BETTER NOT advertise the bar on here as Rob will smack my bottom..!

Well done my dear - I echo your sentiments exactly - not that I distinguish my friends by their sexuality! Mind you I do believe gay men were sent to try us - good company, respectful, usually tidy around the house and good cooks...good taste in clothes and interior design...sigh...!

Going off on a tangent slightly - a friend of mine recently coughed up (under the influence of too much falling down water I might add!) his thoughts on women who are not married by the time they reach 35 - "darling there are no good men left by that time" - no hope for me then - hahah

When I was in the UK I compered in a gay bar in East London for a while... It was my local too. I used to have the best hairdresser, a tidy lodger who was fab at interior decoration and I partied till I dropped!

I also used to work in media too, and the ratio of gay to straight in that industry is about 10-1

Hello Thar

Wow, such a lot of information. My girlfriend and I are going to move to tenerife November/December.
Perhaps we'll pay a visit to Torviscas and anywhere else you can recommend. Sounds like there are a number of us Gay and Lesbian and Gay and Lesbian friends out there, just need to be clear where to find each other.
It's great to have this forum available though. You guys all seem so friendly. Definitly the Forum for me.
