Hi all, just got back to the UK after a few days on the island to complete on the purchase of my new apartment. I cant believe how smoothly things have gone (and how quick) and I am now the proud owner of my own little place in the sun. Basically its down to all the information I have been given on this forum from the kind people who are happy to advise and be asked sometimes the same questions over and over!!!!

I now feel quite competent to help anyone who has any questions whether it be related to NIE, Bank Accounts, Estate Agents, Solicitors, Notaries, Lawyers and Foreign Exchange Agents and maybe I can then help others to have a smooth introduction into Tenerife property owning just like I have!! So any questions I can help with, please ask.

One particular recommendation I would make is Global Currency Solutions http://www.sun4free.com/directory/tenerifebusiness519.htm who were brilliant. I got a fantastic exchange rate (not far off the mid market rate you see advertised) with them and they were really friendly and helpful.

Thank you Polly, for coming back to say thanks. I'm sure that Global will also be happy with your praise. It amazes me that there are thousands of people who use their high street banks even after being advised not to. The savings on the transfer of £100,000 can furnish an apartment.

You are very welcome Rob. And yes you are quite right about using banks v Forex companies for the transfers. Having done a bit of research, there can be quite a large difference from Forex to Forex and by using Global rather than a different company I gained about an extra £2k.

Yes I certainly do!! I'm back over on 7th Aug to 21st, so if the Forum are getting together during these dates, I'll definately come along and meet you all. I've already met Stripps - her and her family, friends/contacts have been invaluable
