I would say "Muy bien gracias Ezzy porque me voy de vacaciones en menos de seis semanas"

or "... porque mis vacaciones están dentro de menos de seis semanas"

To you and Karl, when you ask "y tu?", the tu has an accent on it ("y tú") but I guess you can't do accents on your computers Wink Laughing

Muchas gracias por tus correcciones.

I agree the first of your corrections definitely sounds much better but my future tense is not all it could be....actually none of my Spanish is. I chose to answer with the limited Spanish I have.

I did realise about the accent however it took me long enough to get the first question mark correctly, because I knew someone would pick me up on that Smile

Thanks Jenny, this will be great.

I always try and speak Spanish whenever possible, but the Spanish/Canarians are just too polite and must think they are offending us if they correct us. I think this thread will prove to be invaluable, I know lots of folks who don't even try to converse as they feel embarrassed/or are afraid to use the wrong words.
So yeah, come on folks. lets try harder eh?

Leanne, you're not that bad. Just need to practice more!!

Christa - once you make friends it's easier as they don't worry so much about being polite, especially if you ask them to correct you when you make mistakes. Nothing can replace proper conversation with locals but if we can help on here we will.
