In fact, today, during my luch hour I took the opportunity to scan (quickly) through some of the older discussion threads. Its quite interesting to see the movement of people into and out of the forum, and also see the kinds of topics that seemed to enjoy popular appeal at different times....

Yes is very interesting to look back. I find it amazing the amount of people that post under 10 times and are never heard from again.

Or they post once and the thread carries on and on and on without them.

I tell you what I find even more interesting. Folks who come on and ask a few questions about moving here, work, accomodation etc etc. We all go in with lots of answers and help and they never come back to see what we have written.

Karl, you know what? I know exactly what you mean...

I only joined the forum because I wanted to learn a little more of 'life in tenerife' from the perspective of residents on the island, before committing myself to planning for a future there - a step that I will definitely be taking within the next 18 months. I never imagined that this casual curiosity would have lead me a pathway to some really nice and interesting people. Who knows? A forum meet (in the very near future) could yield some interesting surprises....!!

Will Jama be surfing in the new year, in Tenerife? Perhaps a little boady boarding may come up, as well.....

Well, I've spent much of the last year modifying my exercise regime. One of the guys at my gym is an accomplished surfer who now is a professional exercise instructor. In preparation for body-boarding, he advised me to focus more on a balance between cardio work and pilates, in order to strengthen 'the core'. I feel much more stronger and agile now. Hopefully, I will be able to mount the board with confidence during a future trip to the Reef.....
