...i need some sort of help ( medication wise) to get me thru' the funeral....all i got was a load of spiritual claptrap , hogwash , condecention and patronisation....a vunerable, upset, highy agitated , anxious patient needing some understanding , sympathy and empathy...i got ""spritually, the funeral will heal you blah blah, you need to feel the full force of the grieving process to benefit from this.blah blah.,..".....well, f.u. mr g.p....stick your philosophy where someone may need it after they squash a slug..i'll just sit in a corner, wrapped up like a ball and very quickly mentally fall apart...... |

oh sara this is awful for you. Know what you mean about GP's though really wonder sometimes if they do really understand at all.
I know its going to be dreadful for you, have you tried the bach remedies, they may help. Can get them from Holland and Barrett. Am sure you have but just trying to think of anythink that can help you through. Thinking of you xx |

Don't feel ashamed sara, its always good to get these things off your chest otherwise they fester and just make you feel worse. This is what the whole "rants" things is all about. |

YEA ! DOCTORS ,,,,,,, about three years ago i broke my arm in 3 places , had 2 operations , spent 2 days in hospital , left hospital with my arm strapped to my chest and in plaster from my fingers up to my shoulder ,, when i went to see the DOC (proctoligist) ? he said to me ........and i quote YES I SEE BUT WHY ARE YOU NOT AT WORK,,,,,,,, needless to say i slung my jacket over my good arm and explained in a polite manner what i thought of his question and left the building ,,,, obviosly he is NO longer my doctor ,,,, i must say though at the present time i do have a great DOC ,, which goes to show they are not all bad..
SARA ,, i really do feel for you at this time wish i could give you a big hug babe ,,,, pablo x |

Hello Sara my thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
May I ask have you tried aromatherapy oils ? These helped me last year in the same situation.
My doctor gave me something very strong.. which I didn't even collect the prescription because my family didn't agree with me taking it so I turned to aromatherapy and haven't looked back.
You will find the oils in little shops that sell incense and things like that unsure where there is any in Reef but you can order on line here are some ideas for you.
Anxiety : Room burner: bath: or massage. 2 or 3 drops of reccommended oils dependent on oil quality to a room burner or 5 to 6 drops for a bath. Bergamot oil : very uplifting, Cedarwood: sedative, calming, Coriander: stimulating, Neroli:relaxing.
Insomnia: same as above room, bath or massage but you can also sprinkle oils on your bed. Such as Lavender: doesn't smell like the old granny perfume like everyone thinks, but if you don't like the smell add some peppermint so you can not smell it. Petigrain: my fave on my pillow sedative. Neroli, Tangerine.
Grief: Lime, Neroli & Rose: rose is expensive but well worth it and great for numerous different lady problems and most of all emotions !
Nightmares: Frankincense, Lavender or Thyme.
Worry: Chamomile, Frankincense & Lavender.
If you think you are going to struggle to sleep buy an aroma stone you can put the oils in it and it is electric room burner and burns all night. If you are out and about put some drops on a tissue and just inhale when you feel the need to.
There are hundreds of oils all with different properties and they do work.
They work just like medication by getting into your blood stream but via inhaling etc instead of being digested in the stomach.
Let me know if you want more advice. I would also recommend an Indian Head Massage these are great at releasing anxiety and helping to calm the mind and body !
It is hard hun, and it comes in waves, one good thing my priest said to me last year, if you smile at the waves instead of crying it makes it a little easier.

What a lovely post Lea. Karlb has beaten me to it and nominated this as a possible champagne prize winner for August. _________________ .

I will second (or third, or whatever) that post as nomination for champagne. Very useful information. I don't like taking tablets so will have to get some more oils!!
We could use you as our Forum Agony Aunt (or Oily Aunt as Sunny is our Forum Aunt!) for advice! You did say you liked helping people _________________ Who am I? Find out more here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=17
I will make this day a happy one for I alone can determine what kind of day it will be. |

Awww thanks guys, you are all so lovely !
I would love to me your oily Aunt ha ha, just let me know any ailments and I will be armed to give you my best advice !
Personally I have lost faith in doctors esp when they nearly killed my mum by sending her home with antibiotics for 'chicken pox and the flu' or otherwise knows as Meningitis ! GRRRR... she was very lucky !
When I live in Reef I do the best Spa parties with all the oils, they dead good girlie fun, don't think the men would agree!
However we do not burn Clarysage at the parties as mixed with a nice glass of Vina Sol it makes you very ... how should I put it .. spaced, high.. ?!?!
Any way guys, I am soaking coz believe it or not is is raining again and I have just got in from work.....but I am happy to answer any questions you may have at any time about how you can use oils or help with anything else ....
