Hi Maybelline, we brought Oscar over from a pet kennels/carriers from Bristol too, maybe its the same place, they were absolutely brilliant.
On the crates/kennel he was shipped in and also Freddie (cockatiel!!!) carrier was a note telling people their names and inviting people to talk to them ie shipping staff etc. |

Please note the blood test and 6 month wait only apply if you want to return to the UK with your pet. Otherwise the 21 day rule applies:
| DEFRA wrote: | 21 day wait
For EU countries where more stringent entry requirements do not apply, the EU has introduced a wait of 21 days from the date of the first rabies vaccination before a pet can enter those EU countries. However, if the vaccine manufacturer’s data sheet requires more than one vaccination to complete the primary vaccination protocol, the 21 day wait applies from the date of the final vaccination of that protocol. Your vet will advise you further. |
However: it has been mentioned that some vets will not issue the Pet Passport until the blood test has returned satisfactory.
With this in mind, start the process as soon as possible.
We were fortunate - we left it late but got the Passport issued same day as the rabies jag (beginning of last week) and only 23 days before travel

Post subject: Registering dogs with Town HAll |
|
|
Guys. Can not get a definative answer. My dogs are due to arrive in Tenerife. I am here already. They are being looked after by family while I ensure all is set up here correctly.
My question is What dogs need to be registered with the Town Hall and what does that mean. The vets I have spoken to say as they are mixed breeds they dont have to be registered and then the next I hear iss that they do because they are of a larger size. Mucho confused and cant get an answer. CAN ANYONE ASSIST |

If you are here why not go to your local town hall and ask? ALL dogs in Tenerife must by law be registered and chipped. Some breeds must be registered as 'dangerous' not because they are proven dangerous but by breed. Ask your nearest vet also.
In the waiting room at Adeje town hall there is a list (with pictures) of dogs that are considered 'dangerous'. _________________ .

Nice work Trebs. Someone should have shown this to those Spanish idiots that left their dog in the street the other week! _________________ My Paranoia-Management Therapy is going great! Now they're only watching me half the time.... |

Zoocan is the company which has the job of listing all microchipped dogs in the Canary Islands. You must identify yourself by NIE and the dog by his/her chip No to logon. You can then ensure that all details are correct as well as post a message if the dog goes missing is stolen etc.
You'll find all relevant info and laws on pet ownership etc.
The website is www.zoocan.net _________________ .
