How much has the tragic shooting of the 11 year old boy made the news in Tenerife??

Just a sad, tragic event and the looks on the parent faces in the news conference yesterday brought a tear to my eye... Aside from the tragedy of the event, as a proud scouser it saddens me the effect events such as this have on the outside world's impression of Liverpool... especially 4 months away from it becoming European Capital of Culture.

I had the misfortune of being back in Liverpool yesterday (family funeral), and the city was a very quiet place.

Just what possesses under 18s to have a gun?

I saw this on the UK news....it is very sad...

I still cant believe that there are people in the world that would do this type of thing....it is dreadful

Yes its seems to be far to common nowadays.

I have no idea what the family must feel and what they are going through.

Such a short life.

Education! Im my humble opinion, this thread could so easily be merged with the “GCSE lies” thread. Why? Well I believe its a matter of education.

I was educated at a convent grammar school. However, I got no qualifications but that was down to me and another story. I did however, from both my parents and the teaching staff learn respect, manners and how to behave. I was taught that respect is earnt and not bought etc. Manners cost nothing and can get you everywhere!

With regards to the teenagers who carry guns, they believe they earn respect for doing so. Respect cant not be found through scaring and bullying.

I think, seriously, that ALL parents should have to be assessed and obtain a license before they can have kids. If the “wayneettas” and “vicki pollards” of this world do fall pregnant, the children they produce should go to those upstanding couples on adoption schemes.

You need a license for a dog but not a child..................its wrong.

Britain is in free fall for so many reasons. The issues will never be rectified. Let me be the next PM!

proberly about a week karl theres always something in the news it is terrible. It stupid alot of the ones that do carry them think it makes them cool etc.. and if they have a problem with anybody even over a real stupid pathetic argument they think thats the way to handle it

some tough sentencing would help. We are so soft in UK. People can be let out after 12 years for a murder! Shocked There is no deterrent at times!
