An idea to help wanna be ex-pats and holiday makers decide on thier location!

Hello all.

I have noticed that there are many posts from forum members asking “whats the best place on the Island to holiday or live” etc.

With this in mind, would it be a good idea for us Tenerifian established ex-pats to write about the towns we know and live in? A “place to holiday and live in” type review.

Bard has already written a great piece about where he lives and I think we should expand on this and get as many reviews as possible. I would also like to think the mods could make it a sticky and we can all add to the thread.

I can write about Silencio, Las Galletas and Garanana as I know these places really well.

If you (mods) think this is a go-er, I will get the thread started.

I think that is a great idea Trebs ! We would love that as we are trying to get an idea on where to move to as we do not want to live back in PDLA.

It's a great idea... my only reservation is that they will be personal opinions and as they say one man's meat is another man's poison. We can always stress that at the beginning though. Can we get enough people to do it?

I think we can Rob. I agree you must stress that the opinions given are only the opinions of the author.

For example, if someone starts to slate a place and in the opinion of another member the views expressed are not true, then that member has a right to reply hence balancing the argument.

If we ask the posters to give an honest, balanced opinion, the positives and negatives, it will be ok.

Also, it just does not have to be residents who post, any forum member who has holidayed in a resort, town etc can write about their experiences.

well even if for example you wrote things that are available in particular areas for example reastuarents, bars, shops, transport, accomadation holiday and rental and rough prices if possbile, schools etc...

and then write a personal review of what you thought it was like?? that way people know the things available in the area and can also get a variety of views?? and maybe add pictures?? (obviously scaled down to not stretch forum)

I will copy and paste what I wrote the other day about Silencio and you can put your side of it Treb.

I think it's a great idea but we will still have to tell people where to find it even if we put it as a sticky
