 Post subject: Tenerife Carnival 2006 |

The organising committee for Carnaval 2006 Santa Cruz de
Tenerife has announced the dates for the 2006 Carnival. These should be
fixed but please remember that this is Spain and things can change
unexpectedly. Festivities kick off with the presentation of candidates for
carnaval queen on the third of February, then, there are other preliminary
events from the eighth onwards until we arrive at the twenty second of
February and the election of the carnival queen (a long drawn out affair
that is also televised) followed by open air dancing. The opening fireworks
event is on the twenty fourth and the final fireworks and dancing to signal
the end of carnival is to be held on the fifth of March. During carnival
2006 there will be numerous events both during the day and of course every
night, we'll endeavour to bring you more information as we get it. |

| any idea what the theme is this year? I hate carnaval myself but I need to know for work. |
