Hi again everyone. We are moving over there shortly as our house in the UK is up for sale. Can anyone tell me if the banks in tenerife will allow us to pay a UK cheque or bankers draft into our new spanish account?

If so will there be any charges? Does any one know the cheapest way of transferring funds from the UK to Tenerife?

That will be very expensive, use a currency exchange broker, much cheaper than the banks, it will save you thousands on large amounts. try these and also contact your bank before hand to negotiate any paying in fees. Global will probably do this for you if you ask them.

The banks here quote SIX weeks to clear an English cheque! Nothing like getting free use of your money is there?
