Post Post subject: Info on NIE and bringing money over Reply with quote

Hi all

I am coming over to live in January and will have a holiday let apartment for the first month is this going to be ok as an address to put down for my NIE number, I intend to do this the first week I am there by going to the police station. Also I want to bring about £7000 with me is it best to bring GBP and pay into a spanish bank account (I am opening this as a non resident in December when I am over) or change to euro in the UK then bring over and pay in. Can't find any good info on this it all talks about 100's of thousands not the small amount I want to bring. any advice would be good.

Louisa

DO NOT carry cash around! You'll get a much better rate by going to someone like Global and it's a lot safer than walking around with over 10,000 Euros in your pocket. You don't have to be transferring hundreds of thousands to use them! As in other posts give them the info and ask them to deal with your bank for you they are good, as proved by other forum members.
