Many good sites these days have a small icon when you add them to your list favourites. It's also displayed at the top of the screen instead of the default browser icon.
You can make a small icon file, add it to the host directory, and then add the following html code:
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico">
<link rel="icon" href="animated_favicon1.gif" type="image/gif">
