I have to say Dianne, although I do wish your friends every success in the world, they are in a pretty isolated corner. Its quite easy to miss, I certainly have not had any flyers or info on it through my letterbox.

Also there is not an outside area, it is closed in with a glass like box. I cannot imagine it being that comfy in there during early sunny evenings. I hope they have good air con.

I am def going to make a point to popping in in the next fews days. I am very interested now.

Well I hope not Rob but initial signs do not look good.

They have a few small boards attached to some bigger boards on the railings just outside. It is a cabaret bar and they are advertising some acts for certain nights. They really are going to need to pull punters in to pay for this as well as everything else. I would not say anyone comes to Callao for a night out unless you are living or holidaying here. Saying that the streets on an evening are hardly busy with tourists looking to spend there hard earnt cash.

I hope I am wrong and I seriously hope they have done some market research before opening a cabaret bar in an area that already has numerous empty bars during the evenings.

Yes I would agree that this is not an ideal area to be opening a cabaret bar..... and I know Callao is certainly not the type of area people would go for a night out, it is a lovely villiage and to be honest in my opinion would be spoiled by very noisey bars up and down the street.

I assume they did some sort of research regarding this, I suppose only time will tell if it is going to work out for them. for there sake I hope so but have to say I do have my own doubts......

Popped in their tonight for a look and as I had my son with me and could not stay, it was about 8.30 pm ish Friday night. There was not one person in there bar staff !!!!!

Funnily out of all the restaurants in Callao tonight a place called Sopresa which is a lovely looking Italian was packed out. Not a spare table.

All the other restaurants were either empty or had a few tables taken.

Where is Sopresa, is it a new one ??

how did the decor etc look in the new cabaret bar ?? did it look ok ?

It is just to the right of Netto Supermarket on the corner if you are facing it.

Did it used to be something else?

you'v lost me here, cant place the netto supermarket !! is it the one past Beckhams down the stairs ?? or the one round the corner on the front before Paddys ?? mind you then theres another one isnt there across on the side where peary gray is ??? I know theres a resturant there with a kinda small pool fountain in it its is mostly oudside terrace for eating, is it that one ??

No its not the pool one. Its the one just down the stairs after Beckhams, thats where Netto is.

ahhhh yes Karl I know where you are now, cant say I'v noticed any resturant there before, must have been walking down the road with my eyes shut or maybe even too much vino !!! there are a couple of other places in the square, you know behind the netto market in te square beside the chinese as well although have to admit I'v never been to any....... if you try you'll have to let us know what its like.
