I recently rescued 3 Monarch caterpillars from a flower border here where they had nearly eaten all the milkweed plant they were on and would have starved because there were no more there.

They have all pupated now but here's a view of a caterpillar.

It's not slimy or anything and doesn't bite!

It is poisonous though but I wouldn't want to eat one!
