Every year at this time the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) visits Santa Claus to check that his sleigh and reindeers are fit to fly in the UK airspace.
On the appointed day, the inspector turns up and proceeds to check over the sleigh and all the necessary paperwork. After an hour of prodding and poking he is satisfied and all that is needed is a "check ride" to ensure that Santa is fit to fly.
"Ok Santa", he says
" hook up the reindeer and get yourself strapped in. I’m just off to get my flying jacket and I’ll be with you in a minute."
So Santa hitches up the reindeer, jumps onto the sleigh and waits. In a while the inspector reappears, carrying a double barrelled shotgun under his arm and climbs into the second seat. Somewhat alarmed, Santa leans over and asks
"what’s with the gun?"
The inspector leans over and whispers in Santa’s ear
"don't tell the reindeer but you but you're going to have an engine failure on takeoff !" |
