I HATE TELEFONICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After charging me 200€ for giving me a phone line and internet access for 2 computers (only got access for 1 and had to pay out for a wireless dongle!!!)

Have gone from having one computer that worked until it got a virus, to then having to use my other computer which will not accept the dongle as there is no internet connection available and will now not accept the modem as still no internet access available (have had internet access only last week so it must be available!!!)

They then rang me last night to say that i have a problem with my router(which is what i have rang and told them 3 times, so yes well done telefonica for working that one out!!!!)
She decided that there was nothing wrong with my line and she would be sending someone in the morning(this morning) to have a look.
He has spent 4 mins in my house and told me it will cost me €100 for coming out to configure my computer to accept the modem

Why oh why do they come and install everything but not do the configuration so they can then return 2-3 weeks later and earn another €100 out of you, so in grand total €300 to be connected to the internet and phone and £15 for a dongle(they certainly saw me coming didn't they )

Anyway rant over now but so so mad as i feel i have been taken for a right ride by them might ring them to come pick the whole lot up and revert back to the internet cafe!!!

Ah mate that sounds awful.

I have heard a few things lately about Telefonica.....they seem to be letting a lot of people down on service. I know people have had problems before but at the mo it seems to be worse.

At least now hopefully that it is done and dusted, so you wont have any more troubles....

Why not go to the ombudsman in Los Cristianos and make a formal complaint? Did you check with Telefonica that the charge was correct?

For normal household connections Telefonica put in a single port modem. If you want a router you have to specify when ordering and pay extra.
Telefonica have had a promotion giving free telephone connections, you obviously didn't get that!

Does Telefonica have a monopoly like BT used to have in the UK? My mum said it is much more expensive to have broadband in Tenerife than in the UK. Is that correct? You can get broadband for about £7-10 a month now here
