My wifes Mum and Dad were over for a hol. First time in Tenerife and they have just gone back.

They were walking along the front in PDLA and thought we will stop for a drink. The mum wanted a glass of wine, which they would not do, so she had to have half a bottle. As she was not offered a wine list you would think she would be given the house wine. The Dad said he wanted a large beer thinking he would get a pint.

His beer arrived in a boot and was a litre.

When the bill came the wine was 14.50 euros and the beer 7.75 euros. A total of over 22 euros.

So, Restaurante Vilaflor if ever they are back you can be sure they will never go into your place again, neither will we and we will be sure to tell others not to as well. I cannot imagine your business is based on repeat visitors with service like this !!!!!

A complete rip off.

Good old Villaflor. Only a month ago I stopped for a drink there and had an argument with the waiter when the bill was brought out.

We had, 2 shandys (in the boots),1 x vodka coke, 1 x orange juice and 1 x coke. The bill..............................................

I could not beleive it. Obviously we had to pay so I told him what I thought in ear shot of every one else.

I was listening to the radio this morning like you do....

They are gonna name and shame places that are charging a fortune for christmas dinner.....EXCELLENT idea I thought...I had checked round many places to find that it was very very expensive for something that would normally cost 7euros a head,

Naming and shaming...YAY i am all for it.


At the prices you paid for drinks...I definitely will not be going in there with my trop !!!!!!!!!!!!

Brilliant idea, on the occasions that we do stop for a cold beer or even water in Las Americas or Los Cristianos we cannot believe the prices. Even taking into account their overheads and their position etc some of them are really ripping people off.

Even today we had to go to the Town Hall in LC and rather than stop there for coffee we came back and had coffee in Las Galletas much nicer and cheaper, but then we are tad bias as we love Las Galletas, just for sitting there, people watching and sea watching.

Oh an awful restaurant on the front of last vistas beach NEXT DOOR OR DOWN FROM what used to be Harlequins...... a PR stands outside Pr'in 1e a pint and baguettes for 4e.... AWFUL ! It is just as you walk round from Mare Nostrum Resort to the Las Vistas beach on your left.

Service awful.... it took us over half an hour to be served with baguettes and when they came they were stale ..... why the 'chef' hadn't used his comman sense and thought I can not serve that it would put a window through! I do not know !

They had to come over and take the order twice...... and the first one had some interesting variations on what we had ordered ! Lasagne was cold ! Ordered a drink and got a completely different one.... and then when she came to collect the food and we had not touched the lasagne she said was it not nice and I said no it was cold... bearing in mind we had waited for well over half an hour and she oh ok..... then when she noticed that everyone had left the bread from the baguettes she asked nothing and it took one of the people with us to say that bread should have never been served and she said oh ok.......

We hadn't bothered to tell her as we had waited too long already and she wasn't the friendliest of girls and not at all attentive when you said excuse me it took at elast a further 10 mins till she got to you.....

Then they didn't know anything off the bill and put a 5% service charge automatically on !

We all ended up paying and left as they refused to knock anything off...

The easiest answer is simply to only offer to pay what you think is fair. When they invariably object to this, ask for the Complaints Book (Hoja de Reclamaciones). This nearly always shuts them up, as any complaint entered in the book gets reviewed by the authorities who most certainly take it seriously. If they say they don't have such a book, go straight to the police station and file a complaint there after informing them that the restaurant denied having a complaints book. The restaurant will probably be shut down by the next day!

yep rob thats right legally they do have to have a price list for the bar and it has to be kept uptodate it also has to show the measures being served

ahh good old tenerife measures wish i had them thursday night when i was out queued for an hour to get into oceana... and a bottle of vk was 3.55!!!!!! it was cheaper to buy archers and lemonade! i was like what! omg!
