Lovely photos... especially the 3rd one - I daren't show hubby... he misses mountains and forests (I only let him see volcanoes these days lol).

Actually, it's no where near as bad as it looks... the trees would break my fall. 
And if you think that's bad:
I went to Machu Picchu in 2005. Did the climb from the there up to Huayna Picchu... there is one point with a full sheer MILE vertical drop on one side of the path.  No handrails, nothing. One slip and you are DEAD. As soon as I realised that, I was literally shaking with fear at one point. There was one lookout point with steps jutting out of a solid clifface... i.e. the stone slabs were just supported from one end & absolutely nothing supporting them from underneath.
To this day, I don't know how I made it back down.  |
