Post subject: Strange Tenerife spiders |
|
|
This species of spider is very common here and spins huge webs in cacti and other plants. It is distinctive with the white spikes on its back and is called the Tent-web Spider!
And another strange species I found on a pool in the Parque del Drago. There were pondskaters on the water and this spider mimics them, for what purpose I don't know, or how it finds a pool where they are seeing as there are few freshwater ponds and lakes here!

Only if you eat over a thousand and mix with a gallon of wine, otherwise they're harmless _________________ .

Thanks Rob, I will restrict it to 999 spiders and 7 pints of wine then.
Always best to err on the side of caution. |

Dear All,
I heard (not sure of it's true) that the Tarantula spider is found in small numbers on the island. Does anyone know of this is fact or fiction? |
