We went last week to get our certificado de registro for all the family. It was very easy and even though I brushed up on my spanish to complete the task, it was unnessecary as the policeman spoke english and was very helpful. In fact, the hardest thing about the whole process was standing in the queue listening to the children endlessly fratching!

We arrived at the station at 25 past seven and were 21st when it came to handing out the tickets. I saved roughly about 300 - 350 euros by getting and completing the paperwork myself, which is really good when you are on a tight budget. Now I have to go back to the Ayuntamiento to get all our details but I am finding that the more I do myself, the easier it becomes.

Afterwards, to celebrate, the other half and myself went for a ride on the bike followed by lunch and a trip to the beach. Now, the next job is to get us all social numbers, register with the doctor and then find some suitable work. Will let you all know how we get on.

it does annoy me when companies scare new people nto paying them for services that can be done with much knowledge of spanish...

Well done you. It can be done alone, especially if you have some basic Spanish. However some people would prefer to have someone with them, holding their hand, so to speak. I don't think they're ripping anyone off, just doing a job, like anyone else.
