Yesterday I went with Nia and Robbie on the dolphin and whale watching trip I'd won and it was really exciting for me to see my first ever whales and dolphins close up and in the wild. I was saying to Nia that I was doing what I could to get in touch with my Piscean side seeing as I was born on the cusp of Airies and Pisces and Pisceans are supposed to enjoy the sea and boats. I didn't make a very good job of this though because I got seasick and missed a lot of the best bits because I had to go to the back of the boat and so I only got a few photos.
I am fine on mountain bus rides but not boats it appears!
Anyway here are the pics I have.
It was amazing seeing the whales and the dolphins so close to. Just a shame I got sick! _________________ Find out more about me here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=10 |

Well, I am a bit Pisces and mostly Aries and fine with mountain roads but hopeless on boats as I have just found out - I was the only person sick on the whole boat and it wasn't from eating or drinking either! _________________ Find out more about me here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=10 |

You are not alone Bard, I was sick on my last boat trip. It is awful, I feel for you.

Thanks, Karl! Yes, I wasn't only feeling physically sick and giddy, I was feeling very disappointed that here I had a wonderful opportunity of seeing these animals up close and of getting some brilliant photos and all I could do was go to the back of the boat and sit retching over the rail! Well, that's me not cut out for journalism at sea, I thought! I certainly wouldn't make a good sailor, diver, ocean explorer or guide on a sea cruise! My friends and everyone else had a fantastic time though! _________________ Find out more about me here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=10 |

Such a shame you got sick Bard, but you still managed some very good photos. Thanks for posting them. _________________ Growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional. |

Lovely pics Bard, Chris was exactly the same the whole trip at the back of the boat along with many other people on the boat !! To be fair he should have known better and taken some sea sickness tablets first ! Although it was still a great tip, Chris has vowed never to step foot on one again !lol
Anyway hope Nia and Robbie enjoyed it too.

Thanks for the compliments about the pics, Lea! Actually it was Nia that took the best one of those.
I have been OK on bigger boats in the past so wasn't expecting to get ill and naively had gone down the front with the others. Yes, Nia and Robbie had a great time and view of the whales! _________________ Find out more about me here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=10 |

My sister in law was a bit iffy when we went, as for myself I was right up front bouncing up and down like a bairn when the whales appeared, it was so funny once they appeared every body went so quiet so not to disturb them...it was such a beautiful experience _________________ Failures don't plan to fail, they fail to plan

It's such a great shame that whalers, fishermen and governmental organisations don't share the same respect for these amazing and beautiful animals. _________________ Find out more about me here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=10 |

Yes, there is an ongoing stream of news on the subject and if you look much of the news of the slaughter of whales and dolphins is really horrific, not to mention all the ones caught by accident in drift nets and others harmed by military testing at sea! _________________ Find out more about me here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=10 |
