Post subject: Good learn at home course and pronunciation |
|
|
Hi everyone,
I am learning Spanish at home with a book and cds (Hugo in 3 months). Its very good and I am almost half way through it, thought it does tend to concentrate on using proper grammar and can be confusing at times. I have ordered a Linguaphone course consisting of books and CDs. Has anyone ever used it?
I try and speak Spanish as much as possible when I am out and about and can manage quite well in shops/restaurants but am struggling with some aspects of pronunciation. In the books it says Z and C are pronounced TH but my daughter who goes to Spanish school tells me I'm doing it wrong and in the Canaries the letters are pronounced like in England. Also, when is a V pronounced as B?
I can get the tone of newspaper articles/books etc but need to practice listening to native Spanish speakers, as I tend to become confused when people speak to me in Spanish. Funny really because I understand quite well if the person speaking Spanish is English! Has anyone got any tips on how best to improve as I don't want to continue learning on my own if I'm doing it all wrong! |

This was covered last week, it was asked by Bard.
As Jenny has said many times, get yourself a Spanish boyfriend! Oops, you're married
Find some Spanish friends, preferably intelligent ones.
In April you'll be able to apply for a position in the language school course which runs for 5 years starting in September. Costs about 60 Euros per year! _________________ .

It's at the official language school in Los Cristianos, Juum goes there. It's off the big roundabout in Los Cristianos heading East. Colegio de idiomas, I think its called _________________ .

Why do they have to be intelligent? Often the problem here is that many of the intelligent ones want to practice their English!!! _________________ Who am I? Find out more here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=17
I will make this day a happy one for I alone can determine what kind of day it will be. |

If you can't understand then at least intelligent people will find a different way to say the same sentence. _________________ .
