Well last night, Mrs Treb, Old Golfer, Wiffie, another couple of friends and I went back to La Strada and it was very good.

Due to the rugby world cup, the place was empty, with only another couple in the restaurant.

We started with a mixture of soups, garlic breads and brochetta etc. All was very good.

For mains we had lamb, steaks, nocchi (spelling sorry) and pasta. Mrs Trebs nocchi was first class, she loved it. I had a steak in tomato, herb and garlic sauce. Old Golfer also had a steak but in pepper sauce. They were both superbly cooked. Our friends had lamb in mint and red wine gravy. They were impressed.

For deserts we had the usual apple pies, ice cream with liquor etc and coffees.

After our wine tasting, we chose the ones we wanted and polished off a few bottles also.

The last time we went, the service was slow, however last night it was first class. We did not have to wait between courses and the staff were very attentive and kept making sure we had everything we wanted. Even the owner came over to make sure we were ok.

The question we all asked ourselves at the end of the night was “would we come again” and it was a unanimous yes!.

As for the price we paid, well, we all agreed that 25€ per couple plus the 4€ per person we paid at the beginning was a fair price.

I'm told that it's changed its concept, you pay as normal. Apparently the local Spanish were abusing the system and paying very little for their meals.

Ahhhhhhhh so there was a loophole in there plan, if only they could have spotted it earlier

That's why I asked, didn't think It'll still be going on like that, they couldn't have made much money. I mean, I can just imagine me and my boyfriend arguing on how much we were going to pay them, me being the generous one and he being the tight git! Problem is there's far to many of them around to keep a business going like that!

they have changed the way you pay. We went there the other night and they now have a price list for all food.

i asked why it had changed and yes Rob is correct the spanihs were taking the p**s....some were screwing uo a couple of 5 euro notes and placing them in the box and only paying 10 euros for lots of food and drink.

BUT the prices now are very epensive in my view. 6€ for a soup!!!!!!!! and the ice creams were ......yes you guessed it 6€

We had a nice meal but went to nettos for ice creams...
