hi,i am out in tenerife working in a small office they pay isnt great but hey its a job I hear lots of people talking about workers rates in bars and things? would i get these or do you have to be a rep/bar worker?

You take something with your address on, or residence card, or something that shows you live in Tenerife and you will get workers prices.

Most of the time you will not be asked to show anything anyhow.

Most people just blag it. Sometimes you'll get asked where you work or live but a lot of the time its whether or not your face fits or you have the wit.

Workers prices should cover anyone that lives and works here, although they might obviously question you about where you work.

There's only certain places that will do workers prices. Starco and Veronicas generally do. Also some of the busier British bars in Los Cris (Taylors, Bojangles, Summer Nights, Bar 39 etc) also do them,

Bear in mind that its only about 50c off per drink though. Beer is dirt cheap anyway, so its only spirits that you'll really save on. Considering that most people can only drink 4 or 5 mixers with Tenerife sized measures, that's a grand total saving of €2,50. Hardly worth fighting over I'd say...

I used to pay a 1e a drink on the Starco and I used to get smirnoff or absolute for that ! Thats if I did pay !! Got paid 25e a night used to come home with 24e never know what I did do with 1e he he

Oh and that was when my hubby wasn't paying too !
