I find that the drivers often do this dropping the s. I have also heard Realejo for Los Realejos and there he dropped the Los as well! _________________ Find out more about me here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=10 |

It's like some Brits saying wa'er instead of water, or bu'er instead of butter. It's just a pronunciation thing.
Decide whether you would like to say it "properly" or "pro'er-like" _________________ Who am I? Find out more here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=17
I will make this day a happy one for I alone can determine what kind of day it will be. |

For the sake of being more easily understood I am opting for the latter option with place names! _________________ Find out more about me here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=10 |

I thought that 'Buenos' or 'Beunas' was slang...like 'Hi' instead of 'good morning / afternoon' ??
The other one is when asked how they are the answer often is 'Bien tu' i.e. dropping the 'and' _________________

The Buenos/Buenas is just short version of Buenos Días/Tardes.
The "Bien tu" could be heard as "Bien. ¿Tú?" Like we could say in English "Good. You?". Or the y could just be swallowed/phrase shortened! _________________ Who am I? Find out more here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=17

Actually, with some of the Canarians, you could just utter a grunt and you'd be closer to their accent _________________ My Paranoia-Management Therapy is going great! Now they're only watching me half the time.... |

An improvement on the 'stony silence' approach employed by some miffed women! _________________ .

Uh oh, sounds like there is 'trouble in paradise' at the Sun4free Towers! The natives are definitely getting restless. Rob, you'd better double-check your coffee before you dunk your ginger biscuits this morning...
Don't worry folks, Juum will be back soon, so that's almost certain to restore office harmony... _________________ My Paranoia-Management Therapy is going great! Now they're only watching me half the time.... |
