Post subject: Green Hospital PDLA |
|
|
My son Tom fell over today and hurt his arm. He could not move it.
An ambulance arrived within 15-20 mins from PDLA to Adeje. All good.
Upon arrival at the Green Hospital he was put in a cubicle with a splint on his arm, there he stayed for about 2 hours.
Then we were moved to the xray dept. He was in a lot of pain at this point and although my wife asked 5 or 6 times if he need painkiller no one came back to her.
Outside the xray dep while my son is wiggling and crying with pain, 2 quite normal gents go in before him !!!!!
After having his xray done twice because the first one was not good enough it was explained to us that he needs an operation on his arm.
My wife is sleeping in a chair with him tonight ready for his op tomorrow.
He eventually got painkiller and was comfy when I left him.
I have to say the receptionists at the green hospital are the grumpiest people I have seen in a long time, I asked for the T V remote control for my sons room for which you have to pay a 10 euros deposit, you would think I asked them to pull their teeth out !!!
On a good note though the nurses in Toms room were full of beans and very pleasant.
I am not going to sleep well tonight though.

Oh the poor bairn, my thoughts are with you all today, itis horrible when your child has to have an op,
When I had to have an xray at that hospital I found all the radiographers were tiny, the staff were so helpfull but as you say the receptionists were so grumpy, even when I handed over 90 odd euro _________________ Failures don't plan to fail, they fail to plan

I'm sorry to hear about Tom. When is he having the op? And how long will he be in for? Will he be allowed visitors? _________________ Who am I? Find out more here: http://www.myspacetenerife.com/index.php?page=view_profile&id=17

Tenerife hospitals seem reknown for this... Crappy initial service, but great eventual treatment. Apparently its all part of their new 'tough love' policy.
Still, I'd rather walk into a hospital here than in the U.K. I hear that the staff in Tenerife now speak better English than most hospital staff in the UK too!!
A friend of mine was trying to get an appointment to see his G.P. They told him they could squeeze him in a week on Friday, during his working hours. He turned up and waited around for over an hour before being seen. The G.P. told him it could be something serious, so he needed to see a Consultant. Apparently the consultant can now see him in 4 months time.
Unsurprisingly he's off getting his Will written this week...
Thank God for private medical insurance! _________________ My Paranoia-Management Therapy is going great! Now they're only watching me half the time.... |

i find my doctors are quite bad they always tell you to come back in two weeks! i even went in to get the pill and she told me to decide what one i wanted and come back in two weeks... even though i knew what one i wanted! i went to the brook instead much easier _________________ Coming to tenerife in may!!! |

I must be fortunate at my GPs you just sit and wait, I have never waited more than 15 mins to see him _________________ Failures don't plan to fail, they fail to plan

Think I have posted on here before about the Green hospital and Chris nearly fatal trip when we lived over there it was one reason we came home, he could have died and they just did not care ! _________________ www.secretgardenholistics.com

Thank you all for your posts. Just got back and Tom is well and at home again.
When the word operation is mentioned I think of blood, knives, stitches and scars.
Luckily what they meant was a procedure. Tom had to be put to sleep so they could set his arm straight. Now its in plaster and he is on painkillers.
Don't think Clare and I are going to get much sleep over the Easter period.
