hi im going to work in tenerife the 28th April 08 accom sorted moving in with a friend there. but i have a problem i need to pay money into my bank when im there im with LLoyds TSB i found out there is a LLoyds TSB in Santa Cruz but thats all the way over the other side on island to where im staying playa de las americas??

Is there any banks where you can pay your money into any bank??

My friend worked abroad for a year and said there is a thing called Western Union? He said they have them neally everywhere been looking on net to see if they have any in tenerife i cant seem to see any does know please??

Im going soon and need help asap??

Yes, there are Western Union places here.

I'm not sure I understand your question. There are plenty of banks here all of which will allow you to transfer your money from a UK bank. I don't understand why you want a TSB bank.

Thanks for your help, what i need to do is when i get money in tenerife is i need to pay it into my Lloyds tsb bank account which i have set up in the UK? xxx

When you get here you can set up an account with any bank and transfer money to a UK account. It costs approx. £20 though each time in most banks - check this before opening an account - there may be a bank that offers it cheaper. I know that with BBVA Cuentas Claras you can transfer an amount each month free to UK.

so i can just walk into a bank over there n set up an account ive been told it takes about ten mins? and then when i need to send money home i can just go in there pay them my money and they will send it to my UK Lloyds tsb account? Ive been told if i get an IBAN & Swift code transfers r cheaper is tht true?? xxx

Yes.

Its very easy but for swift transfers expect to pay £20 a time. Takes around 3 to 5 days.
